Shriram Navami - The Birth Celebration of an Ideal Incarnation

     Shriram Navami is celebrated to proclaim the birth of Shriram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Celebrations of Shriram Navami start on Gudhi Padwa (The first day of the month of Chaitra) and continue for 9 days. Celebrations of this festival include periodic readings of the Hindu Holy text Ramayan, recitation of the Ramraksha stotra, singing of bhajans and kirtans in Shriram's praise and chanting of His Name.
